Creating a mutually respectful community in the classroom is essential. In this presentation, we will discuss how to create a collaborative learning environment where students feel safe, take risks and co-create learning experiences. Students who belong to a strong classroom community feel like valuable contributors to their learning. Creativity and Innovation are also essential competencies in our classrooms. Examples will be given of how projects naturally emerge when students are given opportunities to wonder. There will also be a make and take portion to this presentation, participants will create a project that they can take back to their class for inspiration.
